One of the special lslamic prayer sessions lined up in honour of Alhaji (Chief) Apase Engr. Lukman Ishola Oladimeji Erogbogbo, was organised on Thursday, September 19, 2024, by the Erogbogbo family of Ikorodu.
THE IMPACT had earlier reported that late Erogbogbo died on the evening of Monday, September 16, 2024, after a protracted illness, and buried the following day at a private cemetery in Lagos.
At the prayer session led by eminent Islamic clerics, were family members and eminent personalities in Ikorodu, school administrators and others who trooped to his residence located within the lkorodu GRA Estate along TOS Benson road, lkorodu, to pay their last respect.
The Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division, His Eminence, Shaykh Seifudeen Ademoritan Olowo-Oribi, who was represented by Imam Ibrahim Anibaba, offered special prayer for the repose of late Erogbogbo’s soul.
Imam Anibaba said that the late Erogbogbo was an highly respected man who contributed immensely to Islam and Ikorodu, while alive.
The Chief Imam of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Chief Imam Sulaimon Akinjobi, also offered special prayer and charged the family and others in attendance to accept the deceased’s death as inevitable end for everyone.
In his sermon, Imam Sulaimon Lambo charged people to always do good, because what will be left of them after death are accounts of their deeds.
While stating that late Alhaji Erogbogbo was a good man, dedicated family man, community builder and committed religious person, Imam Lambo added that the arrays of eminent personalities at his burial prayer showed that he associated with important people and was well respected.
He said that the late chieftain also followed the footpath of his late father who was also a committed Muslim by contributing to the development of Islam in Ikorodu.
The Islamic cleric charged everyone at the session to always abide by the dictates of God and tenets of Islam, if they want to live a worthy lives and earn Allah’s eternal rest.
